Hello and a warm welcome to Murson Cars; thanks for finding this exciting new approach to used car buying.

   I’m Peter Murray and I have been privileged to have worked with and done business with some fantastic people since starting work in the motor trade in 1968. I am so pleased you have come across Murson Cars and hope you like what you see. Our theme is an understated approach, offering quality vehicles combined with value for money and personal service. This is the style of business we are comfortable with, rather than the hard sell methods favoured by so many today.

   Please bear with us from a stock point of view, as it seems most of our initial launch vehicles, which we have sourced, prepared and loaded up onto the site, have already been snapped up by eager buyers! We had in mind six cars to get the ball rolling, but only one remains available. A good start, certainly a good omen for a new start enterprise, but watch this space – we are on the lookout for the best examples of Hyundai, Kia and Skoda models we can bring you and it shouldn’t be long before we have a modest list of  carefully chosen cars, which will grow as the business becomes known.

   We’re not in a hurry, as the whole point is quality and service, so read on and keep an eye on us. No razmatazz  (sorry if that’s what you were expecting) but if it’s a fair deal you are looking for, you have come to the right place.

   The story so far…since 1993 I have run High Lane Garage on the main A6 in Stockport, Cheshire. This long established business, more commonly known nowadays as HLG, has carved out a name as a dependable and trustworthy motor dealership, where a hardworking team, plus repeat business and recommendation have been at the heart of its success.

   The Murson project takes two decades of experience and acquired knowledge from HLG  into a new era, designed to accomodate the needs of our customers and working tirelessly to give you a good car buying experience, not just once, but next time and in the future, too. Long term relationships are our strength, whether it be with our retail customers or our trade colleagues. “People do business with people”, as the old adage goes and we hope that this website will convey some of the passion and care which have been our trademarks and which have generated a fantastically loyal customer base at HLG. (Fourteen cars bought over a twenty year period by one family? Now that’s what you call repeat business!).

   We have selected, following a great deal of research, three exciting marques which we feel offer excellent value, from up and coming manufacturers who are here to stay and have the financial backing and infrastructure to give you the confidence to know that you can spend wisely with us.

   Our refreshingly straightforward approach to used car retailing, offering buyers and sellers carefully chosen examples of each of these makes, dovetails splendidly with our ethical approach, fair trading practices and a commitment to “putting something back.”

   Sister business HLG will continue to offer Mazda, Suzuki, Honda and Toyota products, while Murson will bring you carefully chosen Hyundai, Kia and Skoda models. We anticipate meeting a whole new audience, who will appreciate and gain great satisfaction from the benefits of ownership.

   As a web based undertaking, Murson’s environmental credentials will appeal to thinking buyers and every transaction is conducted with total transparency – your satisfaction is placed at the top of our list of priorities. This enterprise is forecast to grow organically, through the recommendations and loyalty of happy clients, the most powerful tool in a small business’s armoury. You can’t buy word of mouth – this is something which comes only from satisfied clients. We know from HLG how powerful this concept is and hope to demonstrate, via Murson, that a new start enterprise can similarly benefit. A brave move, following the uncertainty of the past few years? Au contraire, we believe the timing is perfect and aim to demonstrate this, the new confidence in the marketplace, to the best of our ability.

   Specialising in Hyundai, Kia and Skoda, we feel that we have chosen three solid manufacturers, whose products can only be described as outstanding value for money. Our exhaustive research into these up and coming manufacturers is backed by information widely available in the public domain.

   The results prove conclusively that as an independent dealer we have limitless capacity for cementing relationships with our customers in the same way that HLG has done by focussing on Mazda, Suzuki, Honda and Toyota.

   Hyundai, Kia and Skoda cars are all backed by manufacturers who care about their customers as well as the world they live in and we are proud to have chosen them for the Murson Project.

The Murson Charter

  • To source the best examples of each marque.
  • To offer our vehicles at fair prices, commensurate with condition, background and mileage.
  • To carry out provenance checks via our established HLG partners i.e. HPI and Vehicle Mileage Check, as appropriate.
  • To deliver each vehicle in a safe condition, including four tyres from the same manufacturer with a minimum of 4mm of tread of across the full width of the tyre (current MOT requirements ask for only 1.6mm of tread across 75% of the tyre).
  • To donate £20 of the proceeds of each and every retail vehicle sale to our chosen charities, more of which soon.
  • To carry out a courtesy call with each buyer to ensure that he or she is happy with all aspects of the transaction, to answer any queries and to give guidance where necessary. A short questionnaire will follow by post a few days after each new owner takes delivery of his or her vehicle, the feedback given will be read personally by Peter and every effort will be made to ensure that the Murson buying experience is a happy one.
